The garden room offers unexpected spaciousness, beautifully decorated with a touch of character. The outdoor spaces provide a peaceful retreat, perfect for sipping tea amidst the pleasant greenery.
The narrow staircase to the first floor can be a bit of a challenge, especially when hauling luggage. Some rooms felt a bit damp during early October, and while the fridge is convenient, it’s on the noisier side, which could be a nuisance for light sleepers. Signage for the house is minimal, making it difficult to locate at night, with a poorly lit entrance not helping the situation.

Heathcote House felt like a cozy retreat. Sue, our host, provided an incredibly warm welcome with tea and freshly baked cake. The Teal room was spacious, beautifully furnished, and the bed comfortable. I loved the homemade scones during afternoon tea—it was a delightful surprise. Breakfast in the charming conservatory was a standout. those blueberry pancakes with bacon were a treat! The garden was lovely, perfect for relaxing in after a lovely meal at the pub across the street. A few minor issues arose, the fridge in the room was a bit noisy, which disrupted my partner's sleep. the absence of blackout curtains made the mornings brighter, and some might find the busy road noisy if they are light sleepers. Despite these small inconveniences, my stay felt very personal and pampered. I truly enjoyed my time here and appreciated Sue's attention to detail throughout our visit.

we had a lovely stay in a really spacious and comfy room. the village is super pretty and the garden is just stunning. its right accross from a pub that serves delish food. the check in process was a breeze with the key safe, and the little service we needed was always friendly and quick. loved the coffee machine in the room, just wish there was a list of what the pod flavors were tho.
the bed felt kinda hard at first but was comfy to sleep on. also, the fridge was noisy at night and might bother light sleepers.

Perfect for a special occasion
Sue welcomed us with homemade cakes and tea after a long day of travel. The breakfast was unforgettable, so amazing, I could feel my stress fade away with each bite of that delicious, locally sourced food.
It wasn't exactly inexpensive, but worth every penny for the experience we had.
